"Anorexics Are Victims of Society's Obsession with Thinness." Anorexia. Daniel A. Leone. San Diego: Greenhaven Press, 2001. Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center. Thomson Gale. Centennial High School (MD). 12 Dec. 2006 http://find.galegroup.com/ips/infomark.do?&contentSet=GSRC&type=retrieve&tabID=T001&prodId=IPS&docId=EJ3010003207&source=gale&userGroupName=elli29753&version=1.0.

This article compares media's effect to concentraition camps. I found this comparison very interesting and a strange way to think about it. The Nazi's made the jewish people concentrait on working to "become a productive German citizen" and the media adds of skinny models make women concentrait on being thin. Media also suggests that being thin wil make you happy. The Naiz's suggested that if you worked you would be released and therefore happy. The truth is, that the jews would never be realsed and people will never be happy with their body, they always want to be better than they are.

SIMPLE PLAN LYRICS
"Crazy"
Rev. of Crazy, by PIERRE BOUVIER, et al. SING 365.com. 6 Dec. 2006 .

Tell me what's wrong with society
When everywhere I look, I see
Young girls dying to be on TV
They won't stop till they've reached their dreams
Diet pills, surgery
Photoshopped pictures in magazines
Telling them how they should be
It doesn't make sense to me
Is everybody going crazy?
Is anybody gonna save me?
Can anybody tell me what's going on?
Tell me what's going on?
If you open your eyes
You'll see that something is wrong...

I thought this song was related to my topic because it's telling how girls are feeling pressuse to be perfect. The title of hte song, Crazy, bringa it into perspective saying how crazy this is.

What do I know about the media's effect on female body image?
I know that you always see thin models in magazines, especially teen magazines. I learned in health last year that the average size of a model is 5 feet 9 inches tall, and under 125 pounds.
I know that very few people can be that weight, and healthy. The media's portrial of body image can lead to eating dissorders. Many people feel they have to look like what they see in the magazines, and the pressure is on to have the perfect body.
